The Thailand Yachting Business Association (TYBA) is seeking members and industry representatives to participate in a new working group focused on regulatory issues affecting Thailand’s yachting and marine industry.

TYBA has identified several areas where existing regulations and administrative procedures may be creating unnecessary difficulties for marine businesses, visiting yachts and superyachts. Initial areas for review include NBTC type approval and importation of marine VHF, AIS and other communications equipment; importation and recognition of internationally certified marine safety equipment; immigration arrangements for professional superyacht crew; and immigration procedures for foreign yachts travelling between Thai provinces.

4–6 September 2026

Ocean Marina Jomtien will host three days of Platu racing from 4th to 6th September, bringing the popular one-design fleet back onto the waters of the Gulf of Thailand for what promises to be an enjoyable weekend of close and competitive racing.

The Platu 25 has long been a familiar sight on the Thai sailing scene, with the one-design format producing close racing where teamwork, tactics and good boat handling make all the difference.

The September event will provide another opportunity to get the fleet together and, importantly, to encourage more sailors and volunteers to become involved in local yacht racing.

Ocean Marina has reinforced its commitment to supporting Pattaya’s tourism, marine leisure sector and local community through a series of meetings with key tourism and government stakeholders.

On 4 August, Ocean Property Managing Director Khun Napong Paripontpochanapisuti visited Ocean Marina for a series of discussions focused on tourism development, destination promotion and opportunities for greater collaboration across the Pattaya and Na Jomtien area.

The visit began with a meeting with representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Pattaya Office, where discussions centred on the continued development and promotion of Pattaya as a leading tourism destination.

Ocean Marina Jomtien is inviting Thailand’s boating community to join a special three-day flotilla to Bangkok and Ayutthaya over the King’s Birthday long weekend, from 4–6 December 2026.

Designed to encourage more owners to use their boats and explore Thailand’s cruising grounds together, the flotilla will depart Ocean Marina on Friday morning for Bangkok, with participating yachts cruising in company across the Gulf of Thailand and into the Chao Phraya River.

Koh Phanak is one of Phang Nga Bay’s classic limestone islands: dramatic, sheltered, and full of small surprises. Lying within easy reach of Phuket’s east coast and Ao Po, it makes a rewarding stop for yachts cruising through the bay, especially for crews who enjoy exploring by dinghy or kayak.

By day, the island sees a fair amount of tour traffic, mostly visiting the caves and hongs hidden inside the limestone. By late afternoon, however, Koh Phanak often settles back into something much quieter. With the day boats gone, the anchorage takes on the stillness that makes Phang Nga Bay so memorable.

The 52 SUPER SERIES will race in Asia for the first time in its history during 2027 when two regattas will be hosted in Thailand in February and March.

The initiative follows the long term goal to race outside of Europe every second year, to share the experience of visiting new and exciting territories and to enhance the profile of the world’s leading grand prix monohull circuit.

The first regatta, Thailand 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week will take place between Monday 8th and Saturday 13th February. Then the Rolex TP52 World Championship will be hosted in Thailand for the first time, competing between Thursday 18th and Tuesday 23d March.

It is with great sadness that the mariners and yachting fraternity of Phuket mourn the passing of Nick Wyatt, who was the General Manager of Phuket Yacht Haven from November 2002 to November 2016.

Nick was far more than an outstanding marina manager, he was one of the people who helped establish Phuket as an internationally respected superyacht destination during the early growth of the industry.
