Ocean Marina Launches Bangkok & Ayutthaya Flotilla for King’s Birthday Weekend
Ocean Marina Jomtien is inviting Thailand’s boating community to join a special three-day flotilla to Bangkok and Ayutthaya over the King’s Birthday long weekend, from 4–6 December 2026.
Designed to encourage more owners to use their boats and explore Thailand’s cruising grounds together, the flotilla will depart Ocean Marina on Friday morning for Bangkok, with participating yachts cruising in company across the Gulf of Thailand and into the Chao Phraya River.
The highlight of Friday evening will be a cruise through the heart of Bangkok to experience the Vijit Chao Phraya light festival from the water. The annual festival transforms the riverfront with spectacular lighting, projection mapping and illuminated landmarks, offering participating boats a unique perspective of Bangkok at night.
Following the evening cruise, the flotilla will berth overnight in the Rama III area of Bangkok.
On Saturday morning, the fleet will head further upriver for a very different cruising experience, travelling along the Chao Phraya to Ayutthaya. Participants will stop for lunch near Thailand’s historic former capital before cruising back downriver to Bangkok for a second overnight stay.
On Sunday, the fleet will depart Bangkok and make the return passage to Ocean Marina.
The event is open to suitable motor yachts and sailing yachts, with owners from across the Thai boating community welcome to participate.
Beyond the destination itself, the aim is to bring boat owners together and encourage more cruising and exploration of Thailand by private yacht. Travelling as a flotilla also gives owners who may not previously have made the passage to Bangkok the opportunity to undertake the journey in the company of other boats.
Friday, 4 December: Ocean Marina → Bangkok → Vijit Chao Phraya evening river cruise
Saturday, 5 December: Bangkok → Ayutthaya → Bangkok
Sunday, 6 December: Bangkok → Ocean Marina
