Platu Racing Returns to Ocean Marina Jomtien

4–6 September 2026

Ocean Marina Jomtien will host three days of Platu racing from 4th to 6th September, bringing the popular one-design fleet back onto the waters of the Gulf of Thailand for what promises to be an enjoyable weekend of close and competitive racing.

The Platu 25 has long been a familiar sight on the Thai sailing scene, with the one-design format producing close racing where teamwork, tactics and good boat handling make all the difference.

The September event will provide another opportunity to get the fleet together and, importantly, to encourage more sailors and volunteers to become involved in local yacht racing.

Volunteers Needed

To help make the event a success, TYBA is looking for volunteers to assist with the Race Committee over the three days of racing.

You don't need to be an experienced race official to get involved. There are a number of roles required both on and off the water, and experienced members of the team will be available to show newcomers the ropes.

It's an excellent way to learn more about how yacht racing is run, spend a few days on the water and contribute to the continued development of sailing and yacht racing in Thailand.

Volunteers don't necessarily need to commit to all three days. Whether you can help for one day or the entire event, we'd be pleased to hear from you.
