Malaysia International Boat Show Concludes On a High with Sanlorenzo Yachts
Sanlorenzo Asia‑Pacific has concluded a successful return to the Malaysia International Boat Show (MYBOS) 2026, held from 2-5 April at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club. Set against the calm waters and verdant islands of Langkawi, the show once again brought together leading international yacht builders, owners and enthusiasts, reinforcing its position as a key moment on the Southeast Asian yachting calendar.
Marking Sanlorenzo Asia‑Pacific’s second consecutive year at MYBOS, the recent edition affirmed the brand’s long‑term commitment to Malaysia and the wider region. Supported by the Langkawi Development Authority and key maritime institutions, the show reflected Malaysia’s continued emergence as a respected yachting hub—valued not only for its strategic location, but also for its welcoming cruising infrastructure and unspoilt natural beauty.
Interest in yachting across Malaysia continues to grow, underpinned by expanding marina developments, enhanced cruising support and a rising appreciation for luxury leisure on the water. Langkawi, in particular, stands out as a natural homeport, offering duty‑free advantages and direct access to some of the most compelling cruising grounds in Asia.
At this year’s show, Sanlorenzo Asia‑Pacific presented two models from the SX crossover range: the Sanlorenzo SX100 and SX76. The SX range continues to resonate strongly with Asia‑Pacific owners, thanks to its distinctive blend of architectural clarity, open living spaces and an intuitive connection to the sea. These qualities are particularly well-aligned with the region’s cruising lifestyle.
Making her first South‑East Asian show appearance, the SX100 drew considerable attention in Langkawi. With expansive outdoor areas, fold‑down sea terraces and a waterside lounge revealed once the tender is launched, the yacht embodies a relaxed yet sophisticated approach to life on board. Her main‑deck owner’s cabin, positioned forward, offers enhanced privacy and sweeping views, while her 1,600‑nautical‑mile range at 10 knots makes her ideally suited for regional cruising from Malaysia to neighbouring waters. Following MYBOS, the SX100 continued onward to Singapore for her appearance at the Singapore Yachting Festival, further underlining her role as a true long‑range crossover.
The SX76, meanwhile, presented a more intimate expression of the same philosophy. As the smallest yacht in the Sanlorenzo range, she offers an elegant entry point into the world of bespoke Italian yacht building, while retaining the signature openness and versatility that define the SX line. Ideal for island‑hopping through Malaysia’s archipelagos or coastal cruising across Southeast Asia, the SX76 delivers a refined and balanced lifestyle on the water.
Malaysia offers an exceptionally rewarding cruising landscape, defined by emerald archipelagos, calm equatorial waters, and a rhythm of discovery that feels both unhurried and richly layered. From the languid beauty of the Langkawi archipelago with its UNESCO Global Geopark status, to the crystalline waters and marine biodiversity surrounding Tioman, Redang and the Perhentian Islands, the country presents an ideal cruising ground for owners seeking scenic variety without long passages. Sheltered anchorages, improving marina infrastructure and proximity to Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore further position Malaysia as a compelling gateway for extended regional itineraries.
In parallel, the Malaysian yachting community continues to gather momentum, supported by growing interest from local owners, a rising presence of international yachts, and an expanding calendar of marine events such as the Malaysia International Boat Show.
We wish to extend our thanks to all guests who joined us in Langkawi and we look forward to supporting owners as they explore Malaysia’s exceptional cruising grounds and the wider region beyond.
